A Day on the Green

In a joint project between the Gippsland East Local Learning and Employment Network (GELLEN) and GippSport, students from Lakes Entrance Secondary College and their mentors, were able to participate in a come and try session at Lakes Entrance Bowling Club.  Thanks to the generosity of volunteers at the club everyone was treated to tuition in the fine art of bowling.

International Day for People with a Disability

December 3 is International Day of People with a Disability.  It is a day that we celebrate the many achivements of people with a disability.

Wheel Chair Sports Victoria in partnership with the Wellington and East Gippsland Shire councils and GippSport have bought the Wheeltalk program to Gippsland.

Gippsland Specialist Schools Come Together for a Hit

Specialist Schools from all of Gippsland came together in Sale for a hit of cricket.  The event was put together by Rob Wood from Cricket Victoria.  It was an activity that involved girls and boys of secondary school age.

Despite near cyclonic conditions on the day the quality of cricket was extremely high and all of the participants had a fantastic time.


Tennis for Players with a Disability Finishes 2009 on a High

Gippsland's Victorian Government 2009 Sport and Recreation Awards Winners and Finalists

GippSport would like to congratulate the Baw Baw Shire (Winner of Sport and Recreation Research Award), Janet Parker from Drouin (Finalist for Access for All Award) and Twin City Archers Gippsland (Finalist for Outstanding Club Award)
for featuring so well in the 2009 Awards.
 
The awards were presented at a function held at the MCG on 23 November 2009.
